Welcome to the webpage for the Evangelism & Home Missions Department of Mississippi. We are pleased to announce that three new church plants have been started in the state over the last few months. The first is in Crystal Springs. The ministerial couple planting this new congregation is Gary & Evelyn Edwards. The second church plant is located in Decatur. The ministerial couple leading this new congregation is Ed & Stella Dickerson. The third new congregation (just in the beginning stages) is in the Hattiesburg, Oak Grove area. The ministerial couple who has moved to this location from Starkville to plant a church is Don & Teressa Hooper.

In the recent Evangelism & Home Mission Rallies across Mississippi, Administrative Bishop Hart challenged our pastors and their congregations to partner with him (both financially and in prayer) in supporting the ministry of these three new church plants. This effort will culminate with our state-wide Evangelism & Home Missions Sunday on November 15, 2009. On this Sunday, pastors are encouraged to emphasize Evangelism & Home Missions from their pulpit and to give their congregation an opportunity to invest in the Mississippi Evangelism & Home Missions program. All of the money that comes in from the rallies, as well as the Evangelism & Home Missions Sunday, will be designated for these new church plants.
